The Civilians Association Singapore (CAS), embodying its vision of fostering inclusivity, resilience, and community service, proudly hosted the 11th Singapore Silent Heroes (SSH) Awards Nomination Launch Event on March 16, 2024, at Pek Kio Community Centre. Organized in partnership with SSH, Pek Kio Community Centre, and MoCa (Moulmein Cairnhill), the event resonated with CAS's mission to build stronger communities through collective action and service.

Graced by Guest-of-Honor Mr. Alvin Tan, the event welcomed over 100 participants and 25 committed volunteers, creating a platform for unity and recognition. The SSH Alumni Committee Chairman Owen Tan, Adviser Suresh M, and their dedicated team led the initiative, seamlessly aligning with CAS’s goals to empower and support the community.

Symbolizing hope and gratitude, a heart-shaped installation adorned with origami pieces was illuminated, signifying the official launch of the SSH 2024 Awards Nomination.

This powerful moment echoed CAS’s belief in celebrating quiet acts of heroism that strengthen the social fabric.

Reflecting CAS’s mission of caring for vulnerable groups, the event included the distribution of groceries to 50 families, reaffirming the organization’s dedication to addressing community needs. Games and activities further fostered bonding, demonstrating CAS’s commitment to creating opportunities for engagement and fellowship.

The event underscored CAS's values of respect, responsibility, and compassion, inspiring attendees to support the SSH movement while encouraging community service as a cornerstone of societal progress. As the SSH 2024 nomination opens, CAS continues to lead by example, championing silent heroes who embody the spirit of giving and unity essential to a vibrant Singapore.

Through initiatives like these, CAS strengthens its role as a beacon of social harmony and mutual care, ensuring that its mission resonates across every heart and household.
