The Charming Chinatown Charity Luncheon, held on June 9, 2024, at Kreta Ayer Community Club, brought together a vibrant mix of individuals to uplift the Deaf community and seniors. This collaborative event, supported by Civilians Association Singapore (CAS), along with the Singapore Artistes Association, Chinatown Complex Hawkers’ Association, and Silkroad Inc., celebrated inclusion, care, and community.

With over 450 attendees, the luncheon featured heartwarming moments of connection and service.

Volunteers played an integral role, from preparing the space and serving meals to engaging with attendees and facilitating donations for the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf). The seniors from Geylang East Home for the Aged (GEHA) and Deaf clients enjoyed a delightful Sunday filled with music and delicious hawker fare.

The event sparkled with performances by local stars, including Marcus Chin, Getai performer Hao Hao, and the SADeaf Signifique group. Their artistry added vibrancy, bridging communities through shared joy and culture.

This initiative perfectly reflects CAS’s vision of fostering inclusion and compassion. By bringing together diverse communities, the event not only provided entertainment and nourishment but also reinforced the values of service and unity, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.
